I’ve trialed several of the nail salons around Iowa City/Coralville over the last several years and Galaxy has become my top choice! Specifically, they do a great job with dip manicures (they last forever! I wash my hands at least 30 times a day at work and don’t have any issues with chipping, I have to go back in to get them redone because my nails have grown out too much). I’ve gotten a few gel manicures in the past and those are great too, I’m just a little too rough on my hands for them very long. Pedicures are great too- they’ve got plenty of things you can add to them if desired, which is a nice option. Staff are very friendly and responsive if you have a question or don’t like something, the salon is very clean and the vibes overall are great. Will def continue to frequent this salon and recommend it to my friends! ~ Alysia P

It’s been so long since I’ve had a manicure, I didn’t even know dip powder was an option… Super satisfied with my service. I walked in without an appointment and was headed back home after less than 2 hours. This session I just had dip color done, next time I’ll opt for something with a design. They check in with you at every point in the service to make sure it’s looking right to you, I thought that was really thoughtful. They offer a clean environment and friendly service. Thank you, I’ll be back! Update: Second visit was busy, but still in and out for a manicure in under 2 hours without an appointment. Again, clean and friendly. This place is amazing! I am very picky when it comes to my nails (thickness, crookedness, design) and Tina did amazing!!! For reference, they charged me $63 for my nails and that was after their 10% weekday discount if you make an appointment. Of course, nails these days are becoming more expensive, but I would say this is a reasonable price. I am definitely coming back here! My nails were the perfect thickness, Tina was very accommodating, they offer you drinks, and they constantly ask you if your nails are okay and if they look good! I actually ended up making a last minute design decision and she was also very accommodating to that! Overall, yes, you should go here! ~ Brooklynn W

I called an hour before they were off as I was in town visiting an auntie of mine and ran late to getting back to CR to get my nails done. I asked if I could get a dip set or if I was too late. They said to come on in. They got to me almost immediately. I only had to wait maybe 5 minutes. He did stay late to finish my nails but didn’t make me feel bad or anything about it. The guy that did mine was so nice, had a conversation with me and even asked if I was okay since I must have looked upset or sad not sure but anyways I love them and will definitely be going every time! ~ Amy B

Wonderful service. I called earlier in the day to schedule an appointment, and when I showed up the whole store was filled with people. I had low expectations and prepared myself for a long wait, but an employee came over promptly to get my manicure started. The staff acknowledged the full store and thanked me for my patience which wasn't necessary but appreciated. Amy did my manicure and she was great. Very personable, and sweet. I have been looking for a nail salon in IC, and was very disappointed with Grace Nails down the street.... will definitely be back to Galaxy Nails! ~ Kennedy G

I have been a client going on six years now. I have received eye brow waxing, pedicures and manicures (dip,shelac, acrylic) for myself. Over the years I have brought family and friends to Galaxy nails and always leave more than satisfied. I recommend this nail salon to everyone who asks. Making an appointment ahead helps tremendously and staff does a great job insuring they are ready at that specified time. Great deals, very skilled staff and friendly environment. When I moved to this area about 3 years ago I was salon shopping and this was "hands" down the best and has become my home salon! They take care of you, listening to what you want and helping me when I can't make up my mind. I love that while I am getting my pedicure someone is also doing my nails at the same time, which cuts down on chair time!!! My sister now drives an hour and half to get hers done here with me. I highly recommend ALL the nail artists here, they are very good! Included a couple pics of different of ones they have done. ~ Denise H

I have been going to this nail salon since before Covid! Obviously during Covid they had to shut down and I returned back about 1 year ago. They picked up right where they left off. Micheal, Amy, Tiffany and they other young guy (I forget his name) are amazing. They are very clean and friendly. If you are in the area, you must stop in and check them out. If you ever have an issue be sure to let them know, they will try and make it right for you. I will not go to another salon. Thank you for always making my nails look beautiful! ~ Lindsey F

Great customer service, they always do their best to accommodate my wants, they do not hesitate to fix my nails when they break or get chipped in two weeks after I get deep powder acrylic nail service. If you are not satisfied, YOU SHOULD TELL THEM WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED, don’t just be shy and/or write a bad review, they are always happy to fix any problems. I'm not what one would call the target audience of a place like this, but I go with my wife about once a month so I don't have to deal with ingrown toenails. They do a way better job than I do with a lot less pain and I get to sit in a baller massage chair too. My wife's nails always look great and she shows them off all the time. The staff is always friendly and attentive and I couldn't imagine going someplace else when they have such great service at this price point. ~ Brian G

Galaxy Nails is hands down the best nail salon in town! The space is bright, clean, and super spacious, which makes for such a relaxing experience. The technician is always up to date with the latest nail trends, and they take their time to make sure you leave happy. I got an acrylic full set with a trendy chrome finish, and I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my nails before. The owner is also super friendly and really cares about her customers. I have been coming to Galaxy Nails for over a year now, and every time I walk in, I’m greeted like family. The salon is spotless, and the atmosphere is so calming. I love how they stay ahead of trends-whether it’s aura nails, velvet nails, or abstract designs, they nail it every time (pun intended!). Best pedicure I’ve ever had. The deluxe stone pedicure was stress relieving and the attention to detail with the painting of the nail color was exceptional. Great experience from the greeter kindly enforcing sanitation rules to the very little wait time and the overall service was wonderful. The friendliest and most thorough nail salon in Iowa City! Prices were reasonable, were able to accommodate a last minute appointment and they did a wonderful job with my acrylic fill from a set that was done at a different salon. The technicians would sing along with the music creating such a fun, lighthearted and relaxing vibe. I have found that going to Galaxy Nails is a very fun and relaxing experience. I always leave with a smile and beautiful set of nails. I love the discount options they offer if you make a little extra effort to plan ahead. Pay in cash 10% off, Monday -Thursday make your appointment at least 2 hours ahead and you get another 10% off! My sister and i went last night and both got dip nails and pedicures. My sister had to get her previous dip removed and they had to glue on 3 tips to even out her nails Annnnd in only took a little over an hour!! They got us right in and the environment felt warm and fun. Pricing is good too~~ if you call in 5 hours ahead to set an appointment you get 20% off and if you pay with cash you get 5% off. ~ Jenna H

I’m super picky about my nails, but Galaxy Nails never disappoints! They’re always on top of the latest trends and techniques, and their nail art is next level. They were extremely polite and professional, took extra precautions for COVID-19, and were super efficient while also doing a great job with my gel manicure and pedicure. I definitely felt pampered. My first time going to this place, and I love it. I love the atmosphere and decorations inside.The people were all very kind and funny, and made sure I was happy with my results.
